(PRIVATE ADOPTIONS)

Since Peninsula Friends of Animals can't possibly foster every pet in need, we offer this space for others to share information about dogs and cats that need new homes.

We will publish up to two photos per family -- cats and dogs only, please-- along with the information (which may include brief mentions of other cats and dogs in need). Please remember to notify us as soon as the animal has been placed, so we can keep our website current. (We may remove postings that have been up for extended periods without letting us know their status).

Call PFOA at 360-452-0414 and a volunteer will return your call. You must provide your own photos and pertinent information, which can be e-mailed to: safehaven [at] olypen [dot] com or sent by U.S. postal mail to: PFOA, P.O. Box 404, Sequim, WA 98382. (Please provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you want photos to be returned).

PFOA cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of information provided by third parties, or for the condition, temperament, or health of animals exchanged in these private adoptions.

Lexie

Lexie

[Posted Friday, July 10, 2008]

LEXIE is a pure-bred, spayed female Pixie-Bob cat born in 2003. She is microchipped and her registration papers accompany her. Lexie has received meticulous veterinary care, is FeLV/FIV negative, vaccinated against rabies and FVRCP, is parasite-free, and has had complete dental prophylaxis with dental radiographs in the last 2 months.

Lexie was surrendered for euthanasia due to urination outside the litter box. In her previous home, she was the second cat introduced to a home with a dominant female. Instead of euthanasia, Lexie was placed in a family with 3 other cats for 7 months. During that time, it was obvious that Lexie needs a home without other felines -- she is an "alpha" cat and requires that type of attention. She is unable to accept other cats around her.

In her foster home, Lexie was very loving to her people -- she sleeps with them, loves to be snuggled, and loves to be involved in all activities.

This beloved cat needs a home ALL of her own. She follows her foster parents around like a puppy (typical of Pixie bobs) but is very disconcerted by the other cats and their own needs for interaction with her and with us.

Here she is: she is a wonderful friend. We want her to be much happier that she can be in our multi-cat household. Having said that, she will remain here until we are convinced another home will give her the safety she seeks. You may reach us at 360 477 5438. The veterinary care Lexie needs for the next 5 years (until 2013) will be provided at no charge by the veterinarian of our choice unless such care involves a declawing procedure.

Tabby, too

[Posted Tuesday, July 15, 2008]

Tabby is a cute but shy 7 week old female tabby. She is the last of a litter of 4 stray kittens and she needs a good home. She is wary of people so she will need special attention and quite a bit of time to get settled into her new home. The other 3 kittens were the same at first and they have turned out to have lovely temperaments. Please give her a good home.

My name is Tara and I can be reached at (360) 452-7168.
