KHALEESI
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: Calico
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
While Khaleesi was not technically born on the 4th of July, 2014, July 2nd is close enough to validate this beautiful Calico’s reputation as a firecracker! Taken in by a co-worker of the woman who had to give her up when moving, Khaleesi was not a hit with the existing cat in the new home. She was sadly surrendered to us after almost a year of trying to make it work.
Friendly, loving and interactive with her people friends, Khaleesi tends to be a bit bossy with other cats – a trait in common with most Calicos. Funny and smart and all-around charming, this girl would prefer to be the only cat in a home where she has lots of attention and even more adoration! She loves to sleep on your chest and curl up in the crook of your arm.
If you are looking for a gorgeous girl FULL of personality and you have a lot of time and attention to bestow on your new best buddy, then give us a call to meet Khaleesi. She will put the sparkle in all of your days!!!
ROXY
Domestic short hair, female
Color: Gray and white
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
Roxy is a very curious kitty who first arrived at Safe Haven as a youngster about 8 years ago. She was quickly adopted and renamed Roxanne. Sadly, her human mom recently died, and her dad had to move to a care facility.
Last November, Roxy went to a new forever home. However, she was sadly returned by a lovely gentleman who had her for several months when she proved to be uncomfortable around his large, cat-friendly dog.
Roxy is now back at Safe Haven looking for her new forever home. She’s a sleek, gray and white cat with a tuxedo pattern, and a short, smooth coat. She has a sparkling white bib, tummy and paws, and big round green eyes that get even bigger and rounder when she is excited. One of her favorite positions is to sit on her hind legs with her paws slightly in the air. This lets us know she’s ready for anyone or anything that interests her. She likes toys, and one of her favorite things is to carry little toy mice around. When she has her rump scratched (another of her favorite things), she gives head butts while purring softly. She loves to play with the feather wand, but anything that moves and flutters suits her perfectly. She is very curious, always on the go, and able to entertain herself quite well, as well as provide hours of entertainment to visitors. She does like to sit on a lap now and then, but she’s much too busy checking things out to spend much time there.
She’s kind of an independent soul, and would probably be happiest having her new people all to herself in a one-kitty family. And she would probably do best in a home with a loving mom and no cats OR dogs. So if Roxy sounds like your perfect cat, give us a call!
ALI
Domestic shorthair, male
Color: Gray/white
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Bonded stepbrother: Abu
Ali is a gorgeous gray-and-white kitty. He’s a bit shyer but once you get to know him, he’s just as sweet as Abu. Ali is the more energetic and playful of the two. He might take a bit longer to be introduced to another kitty but with a slow introduction he does well with other cats.
Abu (age 2) and Ali (age 1 1/2) have been together since kittenhood, and are very bonded. Although they are not siblings, we guess you could call them stepbrothers. They must be adopted together!
LITTLE BIT
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: Tortie w/white
Size: Medium/Large
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Little Bit is a gorgeous tortie who is only 2 1/2 years old. This affectionate, smart and funny girl would like to be the only queen in her castle — like most torties, she can be a bit bossy with other cats. And, she really doesn’t care for dogs swimming in her moat — just her Royal Highness, thank you!
Left behind when her young “kitty mom” went to England after school, the plan was to fly Bitty over. But circumstances have intervened and the “grandparents” are now moving as well, and can’t take her along. So, if you want a kitty to warm your bed at night and don’t mind having a cat on your kitchen counter, then give PFOA a call to meet this very special girl with “tortie-tude” to spare!
ABU
Domestic longhair, male
Color: Black/white tuxedo
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Bonded stepbrother: Ali
Abu is a beautiful long-haired boy. He has the most sweet and docile personality. He loves to be petted and will stand on his back two legs to bump his head on your hand. He gets along with just about any other kitty. And, he’s a huge cuddle muffin!
Abu (age 2) and Ali (age 1 1/2) have been together since kittenhood, and are very bonded. Although they are not siblings, guess you could call them stepbrothers. They must be adopted together!

EDY
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: White w/black
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Bonded sibling: Koda
Edy is such an adorable cat! She is extremely intelligent and notices everything in her environment–including the moving second hand on the wall clock that she is fascinated with! Active and affectionate and always wanting to be involved with what’s going around her, Edy will bring a lot of fun and laughter to your days. Along with her brother, Koda, this pair will be a ray of sunshine that will warm your heart no matter what the weather!
KODA
Domestic shorthair, male
Color: Dark grey w/white
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Bonded sibling: Edy
Koda is a charming boy–loving and playful and very devoted to his sister, Edy. Raised with kids, dogs and many other cats, he would be a great match in a variety of situations. If you are looking for a perfect pair of siblings, give us a call to meet these two.
PANTHER
Domestic short hair, male
Color: Black
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Panther is a sleek and sweet boy! A bit reserved at first, he loves to hide under a cozy blanket, but will come out for pets and attention as soon as he gets to know you. It is not surprising that he is a little shy considering that he has lost two different homes and owners due to their passing in just a short time. Now there has been another move to the shelter–a very confusing and sad time for this nice fellow.
At 5 years of age, Panther is at a wonderful stage of life where he is no longer a crazy kitten, but still active and fun and looking forward to another ten years of life with a loving family. He will do best in a quiet home with no children or other pets. After all he has been through, he deserves to be the only pampered and adored fuzzy kid!
ROCKY
Domestic shorthair, male
Color: Black
Size: Medium/Large
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Rocky is the ideal fluffy black male kitty – large but not huge. He has a nice thick ebony coat with silver tips that shine when he’s in the sun. He’s very sweet and loves to rub up on your legs. He follows you around wherever you go, like a little shadow. He’s not much of a lap cat but loves to be stroked. He’s also very food motivated and loves just about any flavor of Fancy Feast pate.
FRED
Domestic medium hair, male
Color: Gray/white
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Special needs: FIV positive
In mid-2021, Fred was hit by a car, and had to have his jaw wired and 12 teeth extracted. He has now recovered very nicely from his surgery, and is like a new cat! He has a number of followers of his story, so we wanted to update you with how well he is doing. His fan club of volunteers at Safe Haven are giving him all the attention of a rock star, which he so richly deserves. In addition to all this attention, he also watches over the caretakers, making sure they are doing their jobs and preparing the food correctly. He carries on a very intelligent conversation with each of them. And he is as cute as he can be. He rolls over when he wants attention and loves it when a willing participant plays ball with him.
There is one thing about Fred that comes across much better in real life than in photos. He has, without a doubt, the softest, finest white fur ever. To cuddle Fred is like cuddling a little white bunny rabbit … an experience not to be missed! So if you would like to meet the softest kitty ever, just give us a call to make an appointment!
MOON
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: Classic tabby & white
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Bonded sibling: Star
Star and Moon are gorgeous young sisters around a year old. They came from the West End along with 11 other kitties from three different litters–all of whom slept together, washed each other and played like little kids.
They both have been around children, dogs, and other cats–incredibly well rounded and social cats. Moon is particularly affectionate and very curious –she plays well with others and tends to watch out for her sister. Active and fun, she is a joy to be with. Star is a bit more laid back and snuggly. Also good with everyone and everything, this girl is very motherly and sweet. She LOVES attention and is also very playful.
These girls MUST be adopted together, and the lucky adopter will find these girls to be the light of their home. Give us a call to make an appointment to meet this beautiful pair.

PATCH
Domestic longhair, female
Color: Brown/white tabby
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
Patch is a gorgeous long haired beauty who came to us when her caretaker passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind many neighborhood cats whom she had befriended. These kitties had to be trapped before being brought to us, and they ranged in their levels of sociability. Two have been placed, but Patch is just now getting to a place of trust and comfort where we are actively looking to rehome her.
Patch will need a quiet and patient indoor only home where she will have time to blossom and flourish. She has volunteers that she likes and looks forward to seeing, but she is cautious with folks she doesn’t know. Patch would probably do best as an only child, but she could also enjoy a very mellow, cat-friendly buddy. She will probably take some time to adjust to a new home and family, and will certainly not be a cat who will be greeting strangers at the door for some time to come.
If you are cat-savvy and have a lot of time and the desire to take on a very rewarding project, this pretty girl might be just the new friend for you! Please give us a call to meet Pretty Patch!
SIMON
Domestic shorthair, male
Color: Brown Tabby
Size: Large
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Simon is a very sweet boy who was initially scared, but gradually warmed up to people after receiving a little gentle attention. He will now be the first to greet people he knows, and will immediately come up and roll around your feet, anticipating a good petting. He is still a little nervous of hands and of being petted around the head, but he gets over all that once he figures out that he’s dealing with a good person. He has an exceptional purr, which he will demonstrate as his comfort level increases. He loves all toys, and he particularly loves a good, bushy feather wand. He enjoys his protected outdoor time, and seems to play well with his kitty roommates. We think he would do well with a family without toddlers or young children, but another cat and possibly a cat-savvy dog would work well.
MORTON
Domestic short hair, male
Color: Black/white tuxedo
Size: Large
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Morton is a very friendly young tuxedo who was a stray. He was found by one of our longtime volunteers and brought to Safe Haven. He likes people, especially if they give him a good head scratch. He’s a large kitty, so if he is on a lap getting petted, his head, paws and tail will probably be suspended in midair . When he’s not entertaining guests, he likes to spend lots of time on the enclosed deck, where he can keep an eye on the place and watch all the interesting critters.
HO’KU (“STAR”)
Domestic short hair, male
Color: Grey & black ticked tabby
Size: Large
Age: Young
Bonded brother: Pua
Ho’ku and his bonded brother, Pua, arrived at Safe Haven in early October. Both brothers are about 2 years young, are real sweethearts, and get along well with a variety of people. Ho’ku is very protective of his brother. At mealtime, Ho’ku emits a very strange yowl, then goes about eating his food. He eats well, and likes to provide stimulating conversation with his meals. He has been around children and other cats, but both he and his brother would prefer to have a new forever home all to themselves. Once he gets to know you, he is an affectionate lap cat, fearless, talkative and independent. He likes crackly things, sleeps on people beds, chews on plants and is active at night. He loves his scratching post and really enjoys being groomed. He and his brother are best friends, and must be adopted together. They will make a fine addition to a family with the right living environment.
PUA (“FLOWER”)
Domestic short hair, male
Color: Orange/white tabby
Size: Large
Age: Young
Bonded brother: Ho’ku
Pua and his bonded brother, Ho’ku, arrived at Safe Haven in early October. Both brothers are about 2 years young, are real sweethearts, and get along well with a variety of people. Pua loves to chew on hands. He is gentle with children and has lived with six other cats. Like his brother, Pua is friendly and outgoing, affectionate, playful, vocal and a lap cat. He loves to be petted and groomed, and to chase bugs. He also loves beards, campers, and occasionally enjoys sharing a bite of his people’s baked potato! Pua gets along with all cats, but prefers the company of his brother to all others. He follows people and winds around their legs. He also loves to ride around in his person’s jacket! He and his brother are best friends, and will be happiest as only children together in their new forever home.
TIGER
Siamese / Domestic short hair, female
Color: Flame point
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Bonded partner: Panther
Tiger is an adorable five year old Flamepoint Siamese mix. She also loves snuggling under her cozy blankets, but is quick to come out and spend time with visitors. She is an exceptionally nice cat who will be a wonderful friend after she gets to know and settle in with her new family.
A lifelong partner with her companion cat, Panther, she also has weathered two recent moves and the loss of her people. She is learning to trust us, and becomes more confident each day.
If you can give this pair the loving indoor only home and security they need, you will be rewarded with a delightful and appreciative duo. They will thrive in a home with no other pets or children, where they can feel special and cherished.
If you feel that these two are the right cats for you, we would love to arrange an introduction!!
FIG NEWTON (“FIGGY”)
Domestic short hair, male
Color: Brown tabby
Size: Large
Age: Young
Special needs: Idiopathic Cystitis
Figgy is a relative youngster, about 4-5 years old. He is large, but not overweight. He is on a mixture of regular food and a prescription diet for his cystitis, but in the future he can eat over the counter foods that are effective for his condition.
The main thing that causes his condition to worsen is stress, so he must have a stress-free forever home, probably without children, dogs or other cats.
Figgy is very chatty, and loves to talk to people – he really likes it when they respond and can have a real conversation! And he loves to play. Toys are one of his favorite things. Sometimes he has so much fun that he gets carried away with the love bites, so adoption by an experienced cat person is recommended.
STARBUCKS
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: White
Size: Extra Large
Age: Young Adult
Special needs: none
Starbucks is just a really cool big girl!! With her one gold and one blue eye, she is both unusual and beautiful. She loves to roll over on her back and display her large white belly for pets, but may decide that we are being a bit too familiar and give a little swat.
Starbucks was given up when her elderly owner moved in with her daughter who already had cats–the blended family was not a smooth mix. So, we would like to see this girl as the only cat so her tons of personality can be fully appreciated and enjoyed. She would probably not do well with younger kids, but dogs might be acceptable as long as they acknowledge her as the queen of the household. Starbucks would need to have an indoor only home, but as with all cats, she does enjoy her enclosed deck.
Friendly and affectionate, this five/six year old will be a wonderfully entertaining companion for a cat-savvy home who will appreciate her unique personality. To meet this special girl, please call for an appointment to meet and greet Starbucks!!
BERTHA
Domestic medium hair, female
Color: Black
Size: Large
Age: Senior
Special needs: none
Bertha is a big, beautiful girl with medium-length silky black hair. She is a funny girl, hilarious actually, who loves her food – she’s a little overweight. She loves to rub against people and wind through and around their legs. One of her favorite spots to sit is in her cat tree. Doesn’t seem to matter what level she’s on; she really loves the tree. And she will entertain you for hours with her unique purrsonality!
PEANUT
Domestic shorthair, male
Color: Orange/white tabby
Size: Large
Age: Senior
Special needs: none
Peanut is a very handsome, laid-back cat who loves to be petted and talked to, and when he’s not occupied doing that, he has a favorite cat bed on top of one of the tables where he can lounge about and keep an eye on all the goings on in his room. He’s been in several
playrooms, and seems to get along well with a huge variety of kitties. And he’s good with people as well. His human companion at his former home adored him. Sadly, Peanut’s person passed recently.
He is used to being an indoor/outdoor cat, although he seems quite content with his playroom and deck. In his previous home, there were ducks and turkeys that he got to call his own. He never chased them, and never harmed a feather on their heads.
He has two very striking characteristics. He has no teeth, and he snores. We think it’s possibly because of the lack of teeth, but that’s just a guess. He also has a loud, but nice, purr. He’s a super nice, super friendly cat.
Peanut’s favorite companion cat is his roommate, Tango, who is also an orange and white tabby. Although they are best buds, they don’t have to be adopted together.
SPARKY
Domestic short hair, Male
Color: Grey tabby
Size: Large
Age: Young
Special needs: special diet (UTI)
Sparky is a very handsome grey tabby, about three years old. At some point in his short life, he contracted a urinary tract infection (UTI). Unable to keep him in the house due to the infection, his owner initially made a home for him in the garage, where Sparky kept the garage free of mice and other small critters. Finally, his owner brought him to Safe Haven to find a new forever home.
At Safe Haven, Sparky is on a special diet for his UTI, and should be kept on a UA maintenance diet to prevent a recurrence of UTI.
Sparky is a very active kitty who loves to fetch and play hide ‘n seek. The feather wand is one of his favorite toys, and when it isn’t handy, he easily learns new tricks to entertain himself. He loves to be brushed – as often as possible! His absolute favorite thing is his scratching post. He is a natural hunter, and he is fascinated with bugs and moths.
PHILIP
Domestic shorthair, Male
Color: Brown tabby w/white
Size: Large
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
Philip is a very sweet, very shy young adult. He’s a brown tabby with a spotless white muzzle and bib. Philip needs a quiet, all-adult, cat-savvy home where he has time to adjust and blossom into a wonderful feline companion. He does very well with visitors when they spend the time to get to know him.
ZOE
Domestic longhair, Female
Color: Brown & black tabby
Size: Medium
Age: Senior
Special needs: none
Zoe is a sweetheart! She’s a longhair brown and black tabby with the most gorgeous tail ever – and she’s very proud of it! She is a reserved, quiet, independent kitty, around 10 years young. Although she was adopted with another kitty from PFOA in November of 2013, she really doesn’t care to associate with other cats, and would be best as the Queen Bee and only cat in the family. She loves to be brushed, but will let you know when she’s done. Her favorite spot is at the top of her cat tree, and she doesn’t seem to have a huge interest in the outdoors, so we definitely think she should be an indoor-only kitty. When she’s not on top of the cat tree, she loves to be under pillows and blankets, so people need to be careful where they sit!
.
MITTENS
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: Brown/White Tabby
Size: Extra Large
Age: Senior
Special needs: possible hyperthroidism
Mittens is one of the sweetest, most loving mature kitties we’ve seen. Originally adopted from Safe Haven as a kitten, she was returned because her person needed to go into assisted living. She is a gorgeous brown and white tabby with striking markings, and she definitely doesn’t look (or act) her age! She just wants to be cuddled, loved and petted. She is being tested for hyperthroidism, and is otherwise very healthy. After her tests are complete, nothing would please her more than to find her new furrever home.
BUBBA
Domestic longhair, male
Color: Black
Size: Large
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
Bubba is a stunning longhair male, all black. He was originally adopted from PFOA as a kitten, and lived with Zoe, another cat who was adopted from PFOA. However, Zoe seems to prefer being the only cat (Queen Bee) in her life, and Bubba seems to be good with that. He is quite shy, and we don’t have much more information on him yet. This will be updated when we know more!
ELLA
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: Tortie with white
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Ella was a mom to five kittens who have now all been adopted. Now Mom is ready for her furever home. She would like to have all the attention of a one cat home. She’s a very busy kitty who investigates everything and is also an active, playful girl who will talk to you. She loves people and will sit on your lap for snuggly time. She has unique orange tabby rings at the end of her tail to show off how pretty she is.
CHUCKIE
Domestic medium hair, male
Color: Black/white tuxedo
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Chuckie is very, very energetic and likes a lot of interaction. He loves all toys and gets pretty excited when he sees people. His family would need to be very energetic in order to keep up with him.
LOKI
Domestic longhair, female
Color: Grey tabby
Size: Large
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
Loki is the purrfect nine year young, longer haired, grey tabby used to sitting in the lap of a mature, loving gentleman who has passed. He loved her so much he gave her lots of treats so she’s just a tad heavier than her ideal weight. She enjoys playing with her favorite kicker toy and feather wand so she’ll be showing off her ideal self real soon. As with all gorgeous longer haired kitties, she should be brushed often so she doesn’t get those nasty tangles in her soft fur. She hasn’t been introduced to children but accepts larger dog friends in her home. A devoted to her guardian lady cat, she loves to snuggle next to her person at night but is fine sleeping in her own bed too. She would prefer not sharing attention with other feline companions and is looking forward to being queen bee in her own furever home.
RANDY
Domestic longhair, male
Color: Grey tabby
Size: Medium
Age: Senior
Special needs: none
Our Special Needs Caretaker, Tracy, fell in love with Randy the first time she met him. He’s a marshmallow of a boy who wraps his paws around your neck and melts into your chest. People he’s met for the first time can walk into his room, pick him up and cuddle him, and he’s purrfectly all right with that. He will stay on your lap as long as you let him. He is the quintessential lovebug and has never met anyone he doesn’t like, including other kitties. He really is a treasure of a senior kitty.
GINGER
Domestic longhair, male
Color: Orange/white tabby
Size: Medium
Age: Senior
Special needs: none
Ginger is a real sweetheart. His coat markings are stunning, making him the most handsome orange and white senior on the block! He loves to spend time on the enclosed, covered deck outside his playroom, when the weather is nice, of course! He loves to have company, and rubs against people’s hands to be petted. And when they do, he rewards them with extra-special head bumps. He’s especially grateful if someone puts a nice comfy throw rug out on the deck for him to knead his paws and stretch out.
OZETTE
Domestic shorthair, female
Color: Black
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Special needs: none
Originally adopted in 2013 from PFOA as a kitten, Ozette is a classy black cat with the cutest heart-shaped markings on her tummy. She enjoys sitting on people’s laps, and is looking forward to finding her new furever home.
JACK
Domestic shorthair, male
Color: Grey tabby/lynxpoint Siamese
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Special needs: none
Jack has the typical lynxpoint coloring and the beautiful blue Siamese eyes. He has a favorite hooded cat bed where he spends time perched on the edge, watching everything happening around him.
Domestic Shorthair, Male
Color: Brown w/white
Size: large
Born: January 12, 2005
Special needs: renal insufficiency
We are sad to report that our Spatzi crossed the Rainbow Bridge on the evening of October 14, 2021.
Spatzi was a beautiful Siamese mix. His companion of the last ten years has been Spanky, a very handsome tuxedo cat. Two of the gentlest souls you will ever meet, they have been the text book example of well-behaved, loving cats. Spatzi was the more outgoing of the two, often greeting you at the door with a friendly meow and a leg rub. Spanky tends to be more laid back, often lounging in a bed or cat tree. He is easily approachable and loves to be petted and fawned over. Spatzi was in early renal insufficiency and was easily maintained with the fluids he was given twice weekly.
Domestic Shorthair, Male
Color: Black w/White (Tuxedo)
Size: Medium
Born: July 1, 2008 (approx)
Special needs: none
Spanky is a very handsome tuxedo cat. He was bonded to his “brother” companion, Spatzi for ten years until Spatzi crossed the Rainbow Bridge on October 14, 2021. Spanky is one of the gentlest souls you will ever meet. He is the text book example of a well-behaved, loving cat. He tends to be more laid back than his brother was, often lounging in a bed or cat tree. He is easily approachable and loves to be petted and fawned over. Spanky has diabetes and receives twice daily insulin shots, but is quite well regulated. Come and meet this handsome boy and you will discover his purrfect purrsonality for yourself!
FAGIN (March, 2003 – September 16, 2021)
FAGIN was born in March, 2003 and had been at Safe Haven since July, 2003. He was a green-eyed, short-haired black male who could best be described as a “big lug” full of love. He would “head butt” and lean into his human and feline friends to show his affection. He liked brushing and belly rubs on occasion, too. Fagin was under dietary restriction, and had been quite successful losing some excess weight. Since 2003, he lived at Barker House with his brother, Thistle.
We are sad to report that on September 16, 2021, Fagin joined his twin brother across the Rainbow Bridge. As much as we will miss Fagin, we know that he will be so happy to be with his brother again, together, forever.
LUCY-ALICE
One day, in early 2011, a sweet, gentle, affectionate little Manx kitten named Lucy-Alice was adopted from PFOA. Lucy-Alice resembled a very small, very colorful Lynx, with her gorgeous green eyes, pointed tufted ears, and calico tabby markings. It was easy to fall in love with her, and she found the best of homes with a couple who adored her.
What her loving parents didn’t know, was that some Manx cats are afflicted with Manx syndrome, a spinal disorder. The mutation that causes the loss or shortening of the tail also affects the spine, spinal cord and nerves. As a result, cats with this condition may have problems with bowel and bladder control. The condition generally shows up in kittens by the time they are four months old.
Lucy-Alice did not show any signs of Manx syndrome until a year after she was adopted. Of course, by this time, Lucy-Alice was a much loved member of her new family. When she began to have little “accidents”, they hoped that they were just that – simple accidents. But they were attached to Lucy-Alice. She was so loved. “Maybe she will grow out of it,” they thought. “It will just take a little more time.”
After considerable more time, they had to acknowledge that Lucy-Alice would not grow out of it. Their decision was heart-wrenching, but unavoidable. They contacted Nancy, the Shelter Director at Peninsula Friends of Animals. Could PFOA take Lucy-Alice back? This was not a decision to be taken lightly. Lucy-Alice would require a substantial investment of time and money. A generous gift from a very special supporter allowed PFOA to set up a special area, called “Turtle Towers”, for Lucy-Alice and an older kitten, Bobbie Jo, who also has Manx syndrome. Unfortunately, Bobbie Jo, having lived her first years of life as a single kitty, did not enjoy the company of gregarious Lucy-Alice and trouble broke out between the two girls. It became apparent that the best thing would be to separate the pair.
Lucy-Alice is one of the sweetest, most loving kitties anyone could ever hope to meet. Everyone who spends any time with her falls irrevocably in love with her. And that’s what happened when Tracy, Animal Caretaker at Barker House, first met Lucy-Alice in the summer of 2016. On a bright, sunny day, a couple of months later, Tracy came to pick up Lucy-Alice and take her to her new home at Barker House, a small PFOA facility designed for the care of special needs animals. Lucy-Alice will probably remain at Barker House for the rest of her life. There are very few people who have the type of facilities, and the time, money and dedication needed to provide a good home for her. PFOA is committed to providing Lucy-Alice with the best quality of life possible.
We are grateful to the sponsors who contribute to the care of Lucy-Alice, as well as our other special needs animals. While we still hope that Lucy may find her own family to love and care for her, it is not likely. So, for the rest of her days, Lucy will enjoy her life with her beloved caregiver in the sunny warm rooms of Barker House.
